Grant Description
Grants to Virginia nonprofit organizations for initiatives to address the needs of local girls and women of all ages in eligible locations. Program focus areas include education, health, wellness, safety, and employment. Funding is intended to benefit residents of the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline, and the City of Fredericksburg.
The Women and Girls Fund allocates money, time, and talent to address the critical needs of women and girls in the community. The Fund wishes to address persistent and systematic gender inequalities that not only dampen the lives of women and girls, but negatively impacts families, economies, and communities. Areas of focus include health, education, employment, safety and wellness of women.
Examples of program areas that the Women and Girls Fund does fund (by no means is this list exhaustive):
· Early education and childcare economic mobility
· Physical, mental and emotional health, safety and wellbeing
· Public safety nets and wraparound services
· Holisitic programming for girls
Additional Criteria for Eligibility
Through the Women and Girls Fund, the Foundation awards grants to nonprofit agencies in the area that support women and girls.
